The meaning of the name Morocco

Regarding the colorful houses of the city of Morocco, its name is derived from the Arabic word رقش, which means to paint. That is, its name as a whole means the place of colorful houses:

The city of Morocco is known for its red houses and buildings (also called the "Red City" or "Hamra"), but another city in Morocco called "Chefchaouen", which is known as the "Blue City", has completely blue houses. Therefore, both colors are relevant for Moroccan cities.

The city of Marrakech (Morocco): It is known as the "Red City" due to the building materials and red soil used in the construction of its buildings.

The city of Chefchaouen: It is a small city in northern Morocco that is seen in blue in its houses, walls, doors and alleys and has been nicknamed the "Blue City of Morocco".

معنی نام مراکش

نظر به خانه های رنگی شهر مراکش نام آن از رقش عربی به معنی نقش رنگی کردن گرفته شده است. یعنی نام آن در مجموع به معنی محل خانه های رنگی است: شهر مراکش به دلیل خانه‌ها و بناهای قرمز رنگ (که به آن "شهر سرخ" یا "حمرا" نیز گفته می‌شود) شناخته شده است، اما شهر دیگری در مراکش به نام «شفشاون» که به "شهر آبی" معروف است، خانه‌های کاملاً آبی‌رنگ دارد. بنابراین، هر دو رنگ برای شهرهای مراکش مطرح هستند.
